Deadline: 9 May 2008
For the first time since its inception in 2001, The Crowbar Awards officially open for entries with a clear favourite to win.
Six-year-old Billy Lee is creating a buzz around the industry as advertising’s first-ever child prodigy. He has an IQ of 207 and has already won the praise and endorsement of top creative directors, including Linda Locke, Chairperson of the 4As Creative Advisory Panel.
“I did laugh off the notion of an advertising child prodigy, but Billy has certainly impressed me with his book. I like him.”
4As, the organiser of The Crowbar Awards, has indicated that it will not reject the boy’s entries.
“There is no minimum age in the entering of the Crowbars. Rather than prohibiting Billy, we’re encouraged to see the spirit of advertising creativity in ever-younger talent,” said Chua Bee Hong, Executive Director of 4As.
The Crowbar Awards highlight the best emerging talent in creative communications and design. It is an annual platform for emerging young creatives to showcase their works and learn from their peers. Entries close on 9 May 2008.
