Jason Tan, Lenovo's Server Product manager for Asia-Pacific and Japan, said ThinkServer line is available with Microsoft Windows Server or SUSE Linux Enterprise Server from Novell.
"With ThinkServer, Lenovo delivers exceptionally engineered hardware and easy-to-use software all developed specifically for the SMB customer," said Vicky Agorilla, country general manager of Lenovo Philippines.
"Lenovo is now delivering a full suite of product offerings for small and medium businesses from desktops to notebooks to servers." Agorilla said.
Lenovo launched three towers and two x86 server racks: TS100, TD100 and TD100x Towers; RS110 and RD120 Racks.
The ThinkServer line, according to Tan, offers a scalable offering to fit the varying needs of businesses.
With this line, customers do not necessarily need to have a dedicated IT staff to set up and manage a server management because it is already equipped with an easy-to-use management software designed to help users to adjust to their new server environment.
ThinkServer TS100 Tower and RS110 Rack servers are equipped with Intel Core 2 Duo processor or a choice of Intel Xeon 3000 or 3200 processors.
These servers are specifically designed for small offices using simple applications like e-mail, messaging and storing files.
ThinkServer TD100 Tower, TD100x Tower or RD120 Rack servers, on the other hand, are equipped with Intel Xeon 3000 or 5000 processors.
According to Lenovo, these servers are ideal for medium-sized businesses that require more capabilities like database applications or virtualization.
