Tria Beauty Named One Of America’s Hottest Brands

Tria Beauty, a leader in light-based aesthetic at-home technologies, has been named one of "America's Hottest Brands" by Advertising Age in a special report that highlights the 50 most innovative and successful brands of the year.

Creator of Tria Laser Hair Removal System, Tria Beauty is among the trend-setting brands, including Jet Blue, 2K Sports and Gilt Groupe, which were recognized for their ground-breaking marketing campaigns and remarkable results despite a decrease in consumer spending. Tria Beauty was lauded for being "ahead of other players breaking into the U.S. home-laser market."

Grupo Salinas Awards "Caminos de la Libertad para Jovenes" Contest Winners

Grupo Salinas continues its ongoing campaign to support freedom with the presentation last week of the winners of its multimedia contest "Caminos de la Libertad para Jovenes."

The awards were presented by Grupo Salinas Founder and Chairman Ricardo B. Salinas, together with Mexico City Mayor Marcelo Ebrard, State of Mexico Governor Enrique Pena Nieto, Caminos de la Libertad Director Sergio Sarmiento and Hans Matern, Commercial Attache of the German Embassy.

"We can't talk about freedom if we aren't prepared to exercise it," said Salinas.

"We can't speak of liberty if we don't have the responsibility to accept the consequences of our actions."

Caminos de la Libertad para Jovenes is an invitation for youth ages 15 to 25 to express through music, photography, fine arts, video and writing what freedom means and what walls have to be torn down to achieve it. There is also a category called PintArte en Converse, where participants designed an athletic shoe that will have a limited production.

Over 2,500 projects were submitted with themes such as: violence, a lack of public safety, a lack of educational opportunities, intolerance of sexual diversity, corruption and labor abuses.
Prizes were 50,000 pesos for first place, 30,000 pesos for second place and 15,000 pesos for third place.

The first-place winners were: video, Mariano Renteria Garnica; music, Ernesto Avila Lopez; written expression, Rodrigo Alberto Hernandez; PintArte en Converse, Daniela Pena Funes; fine art, Graciel Arantza Vargas; and photography, Sara Wanless.

Grupo Salinas supports the basic human right of freedom as fundamental for civilization.
