PRESS RELEASE

Jaguar's supercharged 420-horsepower XKR Convertible was voted number one in Kelley Blue Book's list of cars best-suited for road trips.

Compiled by the road test editors of Kelley Blue Book, the XKR Convertible was short-listed against 10 other new vehicles and then surveyed by shoppers on which vehicle they would most like to take on the road this summer. Top of the list was Jaguar's XKR Convertible, ahead of BMW's 3-Series Convertible and the Chevrolet Suburban.

"In choosing our list, we wanted to include a vehicle for every journey - from weekend jaunts of one or two people, to week-long escapades that involve one or two entire families and maybe a dog and a boat," said Jack R. Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book and kbb.com. "Our selection criteria included all the tangible and intangible need-to-have attributes such as driving enjoyment, passenger comfort, fuel economy and cargo space." "The same sexy sheet metal found on the XK is adorned with sportier accoutrements that reflect the 420-horsepower supercharged V8 and livelier suspension underneath," they added.

For eight years in a row, Kelley Blue Book's Kbb.com web site has been North America's most-visited auto site, according to J.D. Power and Associates, and the top automotive information site by Nielsen/Net Ratings.

Siemens Unveils its Gigaset Broadband Software Suite

PRESS RELEASE

Siemens Home and Office Communication Devices (SHC) announced today a new Gigaset Software Suite to complement its vast portfolio of Gigaset broadband devices and cordless voice phones, giving service providers the ability to manage and control their broadband network better than ever before. The new software suite provides comprehensive provisioning, configuration, maintenance and marketing tools for service providers, thereby reducing the complexity of next-generation communications for subscribers.

The Gigaset Software Suite builds on the core competencies of the widely-deployed tango® broadband management suite, and now includes a new module, Gigaset Home Director, which uses patent-pending technology to enable standards-based (DSL Forum TR-069) remote management of non-standards-based devices, including the desktop PC within the home network.

"The Gigaset Software Suite represents a great innovative accomplishment," said SHC CEO Dr. Jochen Eickholt. "The software is engineered to ease the installation process and ongoing support of subscribers with its centralized automation and control - all of which contribute to a quicker return on network investments for service providers by enabling new value-added services and enhancing the subscriber experience."

The rising popularity of broadband services like VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), streaming media and other next-generation communications represent a significant profit potential for broadband service providers. However, adding more devices to the home network also increases complexity for subscribers. Supporting increasingly complex home networks can be time consuming and costly, involving lengthy technical support calls and potential on-site truck rolls.
