AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) announced a new three-year networking contract with Applied Computer Solutions (ACS), a California-based nationwide leader in systems integration that transforms software and hardware into customized computer systems.
Under terms of the agreement, AT&T will provide ACS with a Virtual Private Network (VPN) solution, which will support consistent access to network services and reliable data transport across AT&T's unified Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)-enabled platform for all seven domestic ACS locations. The solution also offers enterprise-class scalability, with the flexibility to add network options as ACS' communications needs grow.
The AT&T solution will supply ACS with improved bandwidth speeds, which will satisfy networking demands and sustain a robust Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) infrastructure. The new network services will also help control ACS' overall monthly costs while maintaining a high standard of network performance, security and scalability.
"We require fully meshed network services that are scalable and cost-effective for quick and secure data transport," said Craig Harrington, manager, Information Systems, Applied Computer Solutions. "We're confident that AT&T's solution will not only meet our needs for cost-effective, reliable data transport across a unified platform but will also provide the flexibility to expand our custom solution as our networking needs grow."
Additionally, the scalable VPN solution will support the future implementation of the AT&T BusinessDirect® portal, a Web service for personalized, secure, anytime access to detailed information regarding critical network services. The future implementation will enable ACS to view, analyze and pay its bill online.
