Animal rights activists are criticizing Victoria Beckham after she was seen carrying a crocodile skin purse.
The fashion mogul came under scrutiny after previously declaring that her fashion and beauty empire was “animal cruelty-free,” and then carrying a green Hermes Birkin bag at Paris Fashion Week. This was all in spite of the fact she had received an alternative ‘Virkin’ bag made from vegan leather.
Beckham announced in February 2019 that she would not be incorporating exotic animal skins in her collection. This has been confirmed with a spokesperson of her brand, stating that it will “cease the use of exotic skins in all collections as of AW19.”
PETA director Elisa Allen spoke about the star’s display of the crocodile skin bag, defending that since Beckham’s brands have gotten rid of “exotic skins,” it would be about time before she also makes changes to her personal wardrobe choices.
The Victoria Beckham brand will also continue being fur-free. Her beauty label, Victoria Beckham Beauty, too, has been dubbed a “cruelty-free makeup brand.”
If you say you’re going cruelty free, actually do it @victoriabeckham! Ditch the bag! 😒@Protect_Wldlife @PeterEgan6 @_AnimalAdvocate @zbleumoon @Animal_Watch @ARCrusade @Ivy_Middleton @CWitvrouwen https://t.co/kimccMQAyS

https://t.co/g5HPK1DaGT Class shows, as does, in Ms. Beckham's case, lack thereof.

I never expected Victoria Beckham to be someone who is 'aware'. Dumb is dumb. However, those who eat meat or support live animal testing and then fight against crocodile bags are a little hypocritical, don't you think?
