Jim Carrey ‘Kills Off’ Harvey Weinstein In Striking Obituary-Style Sketch
By Izza Sofia, 12 Mar 2020
Jim Carrey was swift to unveil his latest illustration to the public, an obituary-style portrait of Harvey Weinstein being killed off.
The drawing shows Weinstein looking unkempt after being sentenced to 23 years in prison for his rape and sexual assault crimes. “1952-2020” is written on the piece as if suggesting his life is over.
The illustration comes after Weinstein’s accusers and other Hollywood women came forward to celebrate Weinstein’s fall, and hoped that the verdict would bring more closure to victims of sexual assault.
Evidently emotional to the sentencing was Rosanna Arquette, one of the accusers of Weinstein. She praised the “brave women” who came forward against the rapist. Reese Witherspoon also expressed delight, describing it as a “historical moment.”
“Thank you to all of the journalists and publications who persisted in telling survivors stories, despite constant pushback and threats, and brought this story to the light,” Witherspoon tweeted.
Some of his victims, including Mira Sorvino and Jessica Barth, have also tweeted their reactions after the sentence came to light.

23 years for Harvey Weinstein. @mega2e and I just witnessed it for ourselves. Weinstein was cuffed to his wheelchair then rolled away. The women who testified sobbed afterwards. Irwin Reiter, his accountant of 30 yrs who secretly helped us break the story, sat just behind.

In a letter to the judge this week, Weinstein’s attorneys said that reporting “destroyed“ his life. In fact, it fairly parsed a mountain of evidence suggesting Weinstein’s actions accomplished that. I hope it encourages more people to speak and more outlets to back tough stories. pic.twitter.com/gTczloKflS
