London’s Piccadilly Circus is being lit up with a splashed-out image of Queen Elizabeth II alongside her address to the nation.
The photo of the monarch is displayed on the Piccadilly Lights, an electronic advertising board famous among tourists. The Queen appears next to the message of hope she gave to the British during a recent televised address.
The words read, “We should take comfort that while we may have more still to endure, better days will return.” The message then changes to another quote that reads, “I want to thank everyone on the NHS front line, as well as care workers and those carrying out essential roles.” A third note says, “We will be with our friends again; we will be with our families again; we will meet again.”
The Queen’s coronavirus message display will run until 19 April on Sunday.
The royal made a rare appearance on television to give a speech to the people of Britain about staying strong during the pandemic. She encouraged them to stay at home and heed the government’s advice during this crucial time.
