After suspending its print magazine, Playboy is making its foray into the digital sphere the right way with a PSA too naughty to resist.
Given its background in adult entertainment, the publication incorporated its expertise in a new campaign advising fans to “practice safe six” in order to prevent another kind of STI: “socially transmitted infection.”
A new video, created with Austin, Texas-based creative company Preacher, enlightens audiences about protective measures that stop the spread of COVID-19, apart from the six-foot distancing rule. The visuals are deliberately illustrated to appear like a safe-sex campaign, but viewers will soon learn there’s more to it.
Suggested practices include wearing protection… using a mask and gloves, limiting “social partners,” and abstaining… from going out.
Aside from the delightful animation, Playboy is now retailing reusable face masks branded with the rabbit head icon. Each piece is priced at US$15, and Playboy promises to donate a mask to health and human service nonprofit Special Service for Groups for every unit purchased.
