Diesel’s latest campaign is so unsettling. The Fake Smiles advertisement for the latest Diesel x Diesel collection features going about with everyday activities, such as ironing, unloading the dishwasher and lawnmowing. However, their mouths are crafted into creepy, super-sized smiles.
Diesel described the campaign as “surreal,” and stated that it was inspired by the brand’s founding values and its “Successful Living” ethos.
Diesel’s new creative director Glenn Martens said the advertisement was “inspired by our constant pursuit of happiness” and features “surreal imagery that evokes a sense of nostalgia and captures the spirit of the decades that inspired this collection.”
The film and the accompanying print advertisements were created in-house and directed by Johnny DuFort at DoBeDo Represents.
