In the age of wireless earbuds, it’s easy to be tempted by the cheaper offerings, but once you’ve used them for a week, you start to realize why everyone else is opting for the fancier options. Apart from poor sound quality and spotty connection, some of the cheaper buds aren’t durable either, especially if you’re wearing them to work out on the daily.
Enter Jaybird’s newest offering—the Vista 2—which is now the first-ever pair of earbuds to have been awarded MIL-STD 810G certification.
The new model has met – and passed – strict US military durability standards, including undergoing a series of tests for vibration, shocks, and extreme weather conditions.
The Logitech-owned audio product company is so confident in its new offering that it’s even taken to calling the earbuds “Earthproof,” which also means they are water, sweat, drop, and crushproof. Effectively indestructible.
The earbuds also come with a noise-canceling feature, so you can focus and lock in on your task at hand, be it in the office or at a workout.
Other key features include SurroundSense, with multiple ambient modes to adjust how much of the world’s noise you’d like to block out at any given time. A custom EQ system will also add to the buds’ sound quality.
The Vista 2 has also improved on its battery life, now with 24 hours of battery and eight straight hours of playtime.
The earbuds are available now for US$200. For more information, head to Jaybird’s site here.
