Are you having friends over soon but only have the sort of cutlery you’d use when no one is looking? For a quick fix, Japanese “no-brand” brand MUJI has partnered with Airbnb to put together hosting must-haves that would impress even the snobbiest guests.
The Airbnb Host Essentials kit by MUJI comprises 23 design-forward products—yes, that many—to cover hosting emergencies on all fronts. The items were hand-picked based on a survey of 1,000 US travelers on the home items that make for the most delightful stays.
This means each piece is selected for its value in adding to a “home away from home” experience, from the white porcelain dishes that lend a pale blue tint under natural light to the absorbent and fast-drying hand and face towels. Not to mention, the US$400 set includes MUJI’s famous aroma diffuser with a relaxing essential oil blend for a quick and convenient retreat.
The starter kit is also made for small homes with its thoughtful, space-saving items. A stackable glass set with durable glass rims allows for easy tidying, while its compact cleaning tools are designed to “blend in seamlessly” into the background.
No detail has been left out, and there’s even a recycled paper notebook, along with colored gel pens, to be used as a guestbook.
If you have always wanted to stay at a MUJI Hotel, this essentials kit could bring one closer to you.
