Leading cryptocurrency exchange Binance has officially announced its highly-anticipated NFT marketplace is now live.
The brand-new platform kicks off festivities with a whole slew of offerings: an auction event, its first ‘Mystery Box’ collection, and the launch of its ‘100 Creators’ program, as per Bitcoin.com.
The first auction, titled ‘Genesis’, features digitized recreations of works by famed artists such as surrealist Salvador Dali and pop art pioneer Andy Warhol. The auction has begun on Thursday, June 24, and last for five days.
The Binance NFT marketplace is also introducing special NFTs, in the form of ‘Mystery Boxes.’ Each ‘Mystery Box’ will consist of one token, with its contents ranging from common collectibles to ultra-rare, limited edition NFTs.
The debut ‘Mystery Box’ collection will include 16 tokidoki designs, including three exclusive Binance-branded characters. Plus, ten lucky winners will receive a Golden Binance Dragon Unicorno NFT to add to their collection.
Alongside its NFT marketplace, Binance is also launching its ‘100 creators’ initiative. The program aims to bring untapped talent into the blockchain spotlight. Users will be able to browse NFT content on the marketplace from the program, with more being released periodically.
Binance has promised creators it will maintain a “creator-first approach” with this NFT marketplace. It’s currently charging a rather low 1% processing fee, while creators and artists are entitled to 1% lifetime royalty from each sale or trade.
