If you’re currently more often at home watching Netflix than seated behind the wheel, your thoughts might revolve around the vague rules of marbles in Squid Game rather than the rules of the road.
That’s why, with the South Korean series taking the world by storm, officers at the Thames Vallley Road police force want to remind drivers that a certain highway sign isn’t a sign by the universe to partake in the deadly Squid Game.
“We can confirm that by following this signage from the M4 Junction 5… will not lead you to the popular Netflix series Squid Game,” the department reaffirms.
Instead, the sign offers directions for diversions for when roadworks are taking place.
The triangle, square, and circle on the sign are identical to the symbols shown on the invitation card to a sporting event of deceptive childhood games.

In the show, debt-ridden individuals are lured into the games while being under the impression that their participation is low-risk, only to learn that elimination means a bloody death.
So, fear not if you come across a sign like this in the real world. The life-or-death games literally aren’t in the cards for you.
