Wendy’s Gets A Punk Makeover For New Store In Camden
By Nicole Rodrigues, 20 Jun 2022
There’s a new girl on the block and it's punk-rock Wendy! The famous pig-tailed red-head has been made over to look like she just stepped off the photo shoot of a punk rock magazine from the 80s.
In fact, that was exactly the idea behind this new makeover. With a new store opening in Camden, UK, what better way to pay homage to the birthplace of punk than by giving Wendy a mohawk?
The offbeat center of London, Camden was the stage on which punk rock first took off and since then has played home to anyone that has felt just a little different from the rest.
Sporting the spiked hair, a bouffant, and the classic emo fringe; three Wendy’s were painted onto the side of a wall in Camden to celebrate its opening.
The mural was created by brand and customer experience agency, VMLY&R, alongside Camden Open Air Gallery (COAG) in a bid to fit Wendy’s right at home amongst an eclectic and headstrong scene.
A vote has also been started on their Instagram to see which of these new designs will be the permanent face of the restaurant.
