Snapchat Introduces Monthly Subscription Tier For Its Most Ardent Fans

Following in the footsteps of Telegram and Twitter, Snapchat has decided to introduce a premium tier for a portion of its 332 million daily users, who will now get to experience a series of exclusive and experimental features with Snapchat+.
For US$3.99 per month, “the most passionate” users of the application will be able to try these features before the rest of the world, with prioritized support from developers.
However, as 9to5Google noted, the premium tier does not remove advertisements from the application, which it is primarily dependent on for revenue. Though this could turn some customers off from forking out a monthly fee if it means they still have to constantly see ads everywhere.
The subscription is now available to users in the US, Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, with the company saying it plans to expand its reach in the near future.
