Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and the rest of the gang are getting a logo of their own. As Lizzo would sing, “It’s about damn time!”
Last August, The Muppets Studio unleashed a logo redesign for the production studio, seemingly “growing up” to signal a new era on Disney+. Its latest brand update is a new wordmark for the characters themselves, and it will potentially be the one for use across merchandise, The DisInsider reports.
As detailed by the official social media accounts, this version—swathed in a familiar green—is a nod at “Kermit and the gang.”
It’s a huge departure from the previous Muppets logo from 2011, which was a thick sans-serif in block letters, with the ‘M’ oddly based on Kermit’s skin. Disney, which bought the franchise from The Jim Henson Company in 2004, unveiled the mark for 2011’s The Muppets film.
R.I.P. the iconic 2011 logo, you've served us well... ð¢ pic.twitter.com/ckupJCYlKO

As pointed out by Twitter account Muppet History, the makeover is deeply reminiscent of the curved silhouette of the classic Muppet Show logomark.
Reminds me of another logo. That’s a good thing â¤ï¸ pic.twitter.com/ZryfnGyo0S

The new logo officially debuted at Sam Eagle’s podium at Walt Disney World Resort at the start of July.
