To recognize the efforts of teachers in the United States, fast-food chain Chipotle has pledged to award over US$1 million worth of free food to nominated educators across 2,000 schools.
From now until August 12, students can tag their favorite teachers on the brand’s social media channels, entitling them a chance to win free burritos.
2,000 lucky educators will be selected throughout the week of August 15 to receive free entrées for them and their colleagues.
The brand hopes this initiative will rally students and communities to acknowledge the indispensable position teachers hold, and to highlight the incredible impact they’ve had on young minds nationwide.
“Teachers cultivate a better world by shaping the next generation,” said Chris Brandt, Chief Marketing Officer at Chipotle.
“As a longtime supporter of education, we are encouraging our fans to join us in recognizing teachers and their impact on America’s youth.”
