Gucci Unveils Jelly Dive Watches Made Of Eco-Friendly Bio Materials
By Alexa Heah, 11 Aug 2022
For those who prefer their timepieces on the sportier side, Gucci’s latest additions to its Dive line will be right up your alley, with the fashion house offering trendier, more colorful options that don’t just pop on your wrist but save the environment too.
As part of the brand’s push toward creating greener luxury goods, the newest iteration of the Gucci Dive is made with recycled steel and a rubber-like bio-based material.
Not only are the jelly-like bracelets made out of at least 46% eco-friendly material, but the accompanying watch case boasts 65% of the cleaner substance, with the crown, buckle, and case back comprising recycled steel.
To inject more fun into an everyday accessory, Gucci opted for adorable motifs to replace the usual numbers you’d see on a dial, so you can tell the time using stars, triangles, and the brand’s iconic bee emblem instead.
The fashion label said the timepiece has been tested for water resistance to a depth of up to 30 meters (100 feet), though it advises owners to avoid placing their watches near strong magnetic fields, in extreme temperates, or in direct contact with solvents, which could end up damaging it.
