NASA Explores Out Of Depth (Perceptions) With 3D Billboard At Kennedy Center

NASA’s endeavors truly transcend earthly boundaries. That’s why, at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex (KSCVC), it now greets guests with otherworldly illusionary play.
A 30-foot 3D display at the Kennedy Entryway Experience brings 6.1 million pixels of magic that “makes images appear to leap off the screen,” the Kennedy Space Center describes. To gravitate toward this mind-tripping technology, the space agency tapped tech and design studio Blunt Action to put together a six-and-a-half minute short film celebrating NASA’s past, including the Apollo missions; present adventures, like the Artemis program; and future expeditions.

The result presents “one of the longest anamorphic experiences created to date,” notes Blunt Action.

The 3D montage depicts scenes such as man’s first step on the Moon, the Mars Perseverance rover navigating the surface of the Red Planet, and the Artemis rocket launching into space. Each time, the objects appear almost close enough to touch. But like space travel, they’re not quite within reach.
