Adobe is clicking with mobile users, and Photoshop is now truly at your fingertips. The company has officially launched Photoshop for iPhone, with an Android version set to follow later this year. The mobile app brings a range of signature tools—including layering, masking, and AI-powered Generative Fill—to a more compact and accessible platform, allowing creators to edit on the go.
Friendly for both professionals and casual users, the new Photoshop mobile app offers a mix of free and premium features. Users can blend and composite images, remove unwanted elements, and experiment with Adobe Firefly’s AI-powered tools to generate and expand image elements. The app also integrates with other Adobe software, including Adobe Express, Fresco, and Lightroom, enabling a seamless workflow across different creative platforms.

The basic version of Photoshop on mobile is free, allowing users to combine and blend images using core selection tools, layers, and masks. The Tap Select tool provides an intuitive way to remove, recolor, or replace parts of an image, while the Spot Healing Brush can quickly eliminate unwanted elements. Users can also access Adobe Firefly’s generative AI tools to add new elements to designs and edit photos more efficiently. The free tier includes integration with other Adobe apps like Express, Fresco, and Lightroom, plus access to thousands of free Adobe Stock assets.

Alongside the mobile launch, Adobe has enhanced Photoshop’s web experience. The updated web version now supports advanced editing tools, direct access to Adobe Stock’s library of free assets, and cross-device compatibility, allowing users to start a project on their phone and refine it on their desktop. Photoshop’s web version is now accessible across major browsers, including Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and Edge.
Adobe is offering the Photoshop mobile app as a free download, with a new subscription plan—Photoshop Mobile and Web—available for US$7.99 per month or US$69.99 per year. This premium tier adds capabilities such as enhanced precision selections with Object Select and Magic Wand, more powerful removal tools like Content-Aware Fill and Clone Stamp, advanced blend modes for controlling transparency and color effects, and expanded access to AI tools including Generate Similar and Reference Image in Photoshop web. Subscribers also gain access to more than 20,000 fonts and can seamlessly transition between mobile and web versions of Photoshop.
