‘GamiFries’ Is A Fry Holder You Can 3D-Print At Home For Your Nintendo Switch 2

Never drop a fry again while scrambling mid-boss battle. One fan has cooked up GamiFries, a snack-friendly sidekick for the Nintendo Switch 2 that puts your fries right where your thumbs go.

Created by 3D artist user7R135 and shared on MakerWorld, GamiFries is a DIY add-on that lets gamers attach a medium McDonald’s fries carton to the center of their handheld console.

Using the Switch 2’s magnetic Joy-Con 2 connectors, the design allows for two setups: a ‘Controller Mode’ that places the fries between the Joy-Cons, and a ‘Handheld Mode’ that sticks them alongside the screen. Either way, it truly puts snack access front and center.

The build includes a red, plastic tray modeled after McDonald’s iconic fry sleeve, complete with a cutout to frame the golden arches.

“It’s ridiculous but functional, a small-scale fabrication experiment that shows how fast fans are already making Nintendo’s newest hardware their own,” the artist details in an email to DesignTAXI.

The 3D file is open-source and free to download, though users will need to supply their own magnets. 24 neodymium ones, to be exact.

The accessory, not affilied with Nintendo or McDonald’s, has found quick fans online, with the creator citing a fan who called it “the most American thing” they had seen all week.

The Switch 2 sold more than 1.6 million units in the US in June 2025 alone, and the community of modders and makers is only expected to grow and get more creative from here on out. GamiFries fits squarely into a genre of tongue-in-cheek mods that combine lifestyle habits with gaming setups. Like console-mounted ramen holders or RGB cup noodles warmers before it, this mashup walks the line between absurdity and genuine utility.

While grease near electronics is generally ill-advised, that hasn’t kept gamers away from stealing for munchies. And if medium-sized fries are your go-to, the GamiFries keeps them within your grip.
