Luxury house Hermès hits home with the concept of “ground,” reflecting our connection to the natural world with its 2024 Home Collection, unveiled at Milan Design Week.
The true essence of the series lies in its ability to transcend trends. New pieces are presented alongside established Hermès heritage items, creating a dialogue between past and present. This juxtaposition emphasizes the timeless quality of Hermès design, where objects are built to last a lifetime.

A nod to the house’s equestrian roots is evident throughout. The vibrant geometric patterns of jockey silks transform into powerful symbols of Hermès heritage, inspiring leather goods and textiles. This celebration extends to the natural textures and composition of raw materials like brick, stone, slate, wood, and compacted earth, echoing the essence of equestrian grounds.
Buckets, baskets, and table centerpieces are crafted from leather by skilled saddler-leatherworkers, each piece pierced and stitched by hand. Cashmere blankets feature subtle, graduated shades and graphic lines, showcasing the Hermès’ comfort zone surrounding textiles.

A true showstopper is the Diapason d’Hermès lounge chair. Designed by Studio Hermès, this piece embodies a modernist aesthetic. It features a radical yet elegant design, combining contrasting materials like hammered aluminum with unlined bridle leather. Explore more here.
