Elon Musk’s vision for X, the rebranded Twitter and soon-to-be “everything app,” is slated to go beyond just social media. Recent updates indicate that the platform is rolling out something for smart television entertainment, which it dubs ‘X TV’.
The latest shows a 12-second trailer, created by a Dogecoin graphic designer, flashing across a stack of vintage TVs, seemingly alluding to the merging of traditional media with the social networking era.

Marking a major departure from X’s text-driven roots, X TV would take center stage as a video-centric app for smart TVs, positioning itself as a competitor to streaming giants like YouTube. Leveraging X’s artificial intelligence capabilities, it is expected to offer a personalized recommendation engine, suggesting content tailored to user preferences. Users will also be bale to upload and view content on the big screen.
Linda Yaccarino, X’s CEO, confirmed the upcoming launch last week, highlighting X TV’s focus on real-time, engaging content, and a “high-quality, immersive entertainment experience” with the ability to tune in on phones or tablets and continue on smart televisions.
From the small screen to the big screen X is changing everything. Soon we’ll bring real-time, engaging content to your smart TVs with the X TV App. This will be your go-to companion for a high-quality, immersive entertainment experience on a larger screen. To that end, the former bird app has struck a deal with Range Media Partners, securing original content from various studios. Additionally, reports suggest shows hosted by prominent figures like Jim Rome, Tulsi Gabbard, and Don Lemon are in the pipeline. If it all pans out, the focus on original content, coupled with the social media giant’s existing user base, could potentially create a powerful synergy.
